above: bear unintentionally terrorizes local women on the carnival’s bumper cars.
i mean, come on. he’s probably just trying to drive to work. it looks like he’s staring them down for not staying in their lane. this is one of those images where i have no idea of its provenance but just like to imagine what ensued. also, this bear is most likely a human in a suit, sadly.

oh, woody allen. just when i thought i couldn’t love you more, here you are on a tall library ladder, kissing a girl in what might be my dream.

mr. allen with romy schneider, paris, 1964.

herman survivor boots (from millis, massachusetts)! i picked up a much newer, much less cool pair of these yesterday. they were 15 dollars and pretty much look like the l.l. bean duck boots… but they had my name on them. literally.

take away the cigarette and this was me today, tired and immobile.
except charlotte is much cooler, obviously.

top: almost famous; bottom: arrested development.
because sometimes i notice patterns in the random things i download.

“because we couldn’t remember their fucking names.”
- keith, upon being asked why the stones album was called “some girls”
“if i show up at your house ten years from now and find nothing in your living room but the readers digest, nothing on your bedroom nighttable but the newest dan brown novel, and nothing in your bathroom but jokes for the john, i’ll chase you down to the end of your driveway and back screaming, “where are your books? you graduated college ten years ago, so how come there are no damn books in your house? why are you living on the intellectual equivalent of kraft macaroni and cheese?” i sound like i’m joking about this, but i’m not.”
- stephen king, in a commencement speech at the university of maine, may 2005.
this is slightly amusing to me because mr. king himself is my guilty pleasure, end-of-the-night quick read of choice (never dan brown… god forbid); stephen is a smart man, though, and i can think of plenty of people who need such an intervention.
created by lisa congdon of san francisco, a collection a day 2010 is exactly what it sounds like. here are 2 of my favorites so far:

day 1: vintage erasers.

day 5: vintage pencil leads.
i look forward to all the rest. i wish i had thought of this idea- it would legitimize all the weird little things i accumulate but don’t seriously collect.
